What else should I know?

Time to live: Stateful services have a time to live of at least 1 hour, set in whole-hour steps; the default is 1 hour. The maximum depends on the plan: 4 hours on Free, 24 hours on Developer and up to 30 days on Pro. At expiry the service and its data are deleted and cannot be recovered.

Pricing questions

What do the plans cost?

Free is $0. Developer is $3 a quarter or $10 a year. Pro is $10 a month or $100 a year. Paying annually saves 2 dollars a year on Developer and 20 dollars a year on Pro.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free is invite-only. It allows one running microVM, 3 services in total and a time to live of up to 4 hours, and it does not allow services that fetch arbitrary URLs.

How is storage priced?

Storage is included in every plan, not sold separately. It is allocated in 50 MB chunks. Free allocates 2 chunks (100 MB), Developer 10 chunks (500 MB) and Pro 40 chunks (2 GB).

Do idle services count towards active hours?

No. Time spent scaled to zero does not count as active hours.

Why are services small?

Services are small and idle services scale to zero. Published memory floors are 64 to 128 MB, so a service does not need a large machine.
